Publication Date: April 5, 2011

Format: Hardcover
Page Count: 424 pages

Series: The Mortal Instruments #4

The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And - most importantly of all - she can finally call Jace her boyfriend.

But nothing comes without a price.

Someone is murdering Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side - along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls - neither of whom knows about the other one.

When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. The stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

My Review + Rant:

Ladies and gentlemen ... May I present you, the Queen of Cliff-hangers ... CASSANDRA CLARE. Seriously! Cassandra Clare makes me want to throw a book through a window.

In City of Fallen Angles, it focuses more on Simon, which was great read because in the last three books it didn't really revolves on him but with Clary and Jace. So, the story begins about 2-3 months after the end of City of Glass. Clary is being trained to be a shadowhunter, Jocelyn preparing to marry Luke, Alec and Magnus are off seeing the world and happily in love (MALEC!), Simon is still struggling with being a vampire along with dating two girls at the same time and Jace acting all weird. But aside from that ... Jace is still Jace.

It is so hard for me to write this without any spoilers.

Just to get my frustrations out SPOILERS ABOUT THE ENDING AHEAD!
This will be a rant

OH MY FRICKEN GOD! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Sebastian that bastard!! Why does he have to come back!! And now he's controlling Jace?!? NOOO! Tears! I am in TEARS! Is he going to be fine? Will Clary know? THAT SOB!! I...cannot speak! *sighs* *frustrated* But it was all worth it.
