Their love was meant to be.

But Megan is about to discover that her feelings for Adam are tied to a fate that was sealed long ago—and that the passion and power that brought them together could be their ultimate destruction.

My Review:

I had to get sleep when reading this, yeah that never got done.

Megan, who is not only going to a new school, but a whole new country. Then we are introduced to Caitlin on her first day of school, who immediately becomes Megan's friend and later best friends. Megan know that she and Caitlin are going to get along great, but she swept away about a guy who seems to be everywhere she turns and is always starting at her and notice strange things about Adam and his family.

I loved Megan's relationship with Adam's family. Ríne was my personal favorite with his rebel, funny one-liners. His darker side is alluded to a couple of times and I worry that is going to come out later in the series as a problem. Fionn was the character I sympathized the most. He has lost so much and still watches over Adam and his siblings like they are his own children. The emotional connection. And lets not forget Áine, Adam's sister who controls the element Earth.

And now for the romance. Adam and Megan are very loyal to each other and that's what I love about characters. Adam is very sweet to Megan and the only "problem" that's like way to descriptive is the PDA. I mean, basically every chapter has some PDA in it. (Not that I'm complaining)

Overall, this thrilling and achingly romantic book will have you up late at night, leaving you wanting more and more.

Adam: Water
Ríne: Fire
Áine: Earth
Megan: Air

Series: Defiance #1

Within the walls of Baalboden, beneath the shadow of the city's brutal leader, Rachel Adams has a secret. While other girls sew dresses and obey their male Protectors, Rachel knows how to survive in the wilderness and deftly wield a sword. When her father, Jared, fails to return from a courier mission and is declared dead, the Commander assigns Rachel a new Protector, her father's apprentice, Logan--the same boy Rachel declared her love for two years ago, and the same one who handed her heart right back to her. Left with nothing but a fierce belief in her father's survival, Rachel decides to escape and find him herself. But treason against the Commander carries a heavy price, and what awaits her in the Wasteland could destroy her.

At nineteen, Logan McEntire is many things. Orphan. Outcast. Inventor. As apprentice to the city's top courier, Logan is focused on learning his trade so he can escape the tyranny of Baalboden. But his plan never included being responsible for his mentor's impulsive daughter. Logan is determined to protect her, but when his escape plan goes wrong and Rachel pays the price, he realizes he has more at stake than disappointing Jared.

As Rachel and Logan battle their way through the Wasteland, stalked by a monster that can't be killed and an army of assassins out for blood, they discover romance, heartbreak, and a truth that will incite a war decades in the making.

My Review:

Epic... this book is EPIC!

The first few chapters were pretty slow, but after we hit that part about Rachel looking for her father, it hits the ground running. I was sucked into this story immediately and it hurts when I put it down. I couldn't torture myself from not reading this book.

The main heroine Rachel Adams is what we (the readers) need nowadays. Just reading the synopsis, I knew that the main protagonist would be fierce and a total bad-ass.

About maybe 10 pages in we are introduced to Logan, the love interest. The best thing about Rachel and Logan's relationship is that they both think its forbidden and all that nonsense, but they clearly see they both have feelings for them. The thing I loved most about Logan was that he is undeniably loyal! He's strong yet very smart.

And then we come to the Commander, who is seriously pisses me off. He makes me so frustrated. He's clever and really tortures Rachel and Logan. (view spoiler) Even after all his crap, he's still an awesome antagonist.

BOOK TWO, PLEASE COME SOONER!! I need it now. Please go read this its flipping awesome! It's totally worth it. Action packed, full of romance, and a page tuner... I present you... Defiance.
